Illinois WR Mike Dudek to miss 2016 season with ACL tear
Illinois wide receiver Mike Dudek is out for the season (again) after suffering a torn ACL in spring practice.
Dudek had been held out of practice after hurting his knee during a scrimmage. New Illinois coach Lovie Smith confirmed the right knee injury on Friday.
Lovie delivered some bad news today. #Illini WR Mikey Dudek will miss his 2nd straight season with a torn ACL.

Dudek missed the 2015 season with a torn ACL, a knee injury he suffered last spring. That injury was also to the right knee and he applied for a medical redshirt since he missed the entire season.
It's brutal news for Dudek, who was Illinois' best receiver as a freshman in 2014. He had 76 catches for 1.038 yards and six touchdowns in 2014. He won't get a chance to make his 77th catch for the Illini until 2017.
Dudek was a three-star wide receiver out of Naperville, Illinois, in the class of 2014 according to Rivals.
