Former Oklahoma State RB Tyreek Hill gets three years probation
Former Oklahoma State running back Tyreek Hill pleaded guilty Friday to punching and choking his pregnant girlfriend in December. He received three years of probation.
The probation, which includes a completion of anger management and domestic violence awareness courses, is part of a plea deal. If Hill, 21, completes his probation without incident, he will not be considered a convicted felon and, according to his lawyer Jay Husbands, the case will be wiped from his permanent record.
If Hill does violate his probation, he could be sentenced to jail for up to three years.
Hill was dismissed from the Oklahoma State program after he was arrested on a felony complaint of domestic abuse by strangulation.
Hill led the Cowboys in all-purpose yards (1,811) last season, was First-Team All-Big 12 by the Associated Press and voted by conference coaches as Offensive Newcomer of the Year.
He was best known for his 92-yard punt return touchdown that helped the Cowboys in a come-from-behind 38-35 overtime win against rival Oklahoma.
Hill tweeted in April that he was transferring to Akron, but Akron never confirmed the transfer and he is not listed on the fall roster.
