When’s Jamal Crawford getting his contract? That’s what former Los Angeles Clippers teammates Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan are wondering.

Jordan, who finally joined the Dallas Mavericks three years after his notorious emoji saga, took on a hype-man role for Crawford.

Crawford and Jordan were teammates in Los Angeles from 2012, when Crawford was acquired by the Hawks in a trade, to 2017, when the Clippers waived him. He ended up signing with the Minnesota Timberwolves a week later.

On Thursday, Jordan took to Twitter saying that it was insane that the 18-year NBA veteran hadn’t yet signed a deal.

Sadly, he didn’t use an emoji.

Blake Griffin, who was traded from the Clippers to the Detroit Pistons last year, also chimed in for his former teammate.

He did use an emoji although it wasn’t as entertaining as the banana boat saga of 2015.

Crawford visits

Crawford has yet to find a team after turning down a one-year, $4.5 million option with the Timberwolves. But it looks like that time without a team might be coming to a close.

The free agent visited the Phoenix Suns on Friday, meeting with the general manager and coach Igor Kokoskov.

“I like Jamal. I know him personally. He’s a great player, he’s a great guy,” interim general manager and vice president of basketball operations James Jones said on 98.7 FM Arizona’s Sports Station. “Those are the types of players that we will look towards as we go through the season. More importantly, it’s not even about who potentially could be here or who’s out there. I’m focused on who’s here and we know who those guys are.”

The Suns finished last season with a 21-61 record. If Crawford were to join the Suns, he could help with their backcourt as well as add a veteran presence.
