The Buffalo Bills have added some depth to their defensive line, signing Casey Toohill to a one-year deal.

The team announced that Toohill will join the team’s set of defensive ends in 2024:

Toohill, 27, was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in the seventh round of the 2020 NFL draft. However, he was waived that same year and landed with the Washington Commanders where he stayed through last season.

In his four years in Washington, Toohill tallied seven sacks, three fumble recoveries and 78 total tackles, including nine for loss.

This past year was Toohill’s best of his NFL career. Much of that has to do with opportunity as the Commanders ended up trading their top edge defenders, Chase Young and Montez Sweat. In Buffalo, Toohill joins a defensive end group which includes Greg Rousseau, Von Miller, A.J. Epenesa and Kingsley Jonathan.

The 6-foot-5, 254-pound defender projects as a rotational option so it’s still a position the Bills could use a 2024 NFL draft selection on a pass rusher.
