Bengals vs. Eagles series history ahead of Week 8 showdown
The Cincinnati Bengals are set to host the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, a series that very much has been in Cincinnati's favor throughout the years.
Sunday marks the 15th time the Bengals and Eagles meet, the first since 2020. Of the previous 14 meetings, the Bengals have won nine times while the Eagles have scored three victories. Twice, all within the last four meetings, the two have played to a draw. Their 2020 game ended in a 23-23 tie and 2008's edition finished in a 13-13 draw (Donovan McNabb's famous speech about not knowing games could end in a tie).
The Bengals have not lost to the Eagles since way back on Christmas Eve 2000, a 16-7 win for the Eagles. The Bengals have won in 2004 (January 2005), 2012 and 2016 to go along with those two ties, putting the Bengals on a five-game unbeaten streak against Philadelphia.
Then there's this nugget: the Bengals have never lost at home to the Eagles. Sunday will be just the 6th time the Eagles visit Cincinnati. The Bengals are 4-0-1 all-time at home against the Eagles.
It's not a matchup we see very often, but it is one in which history is very much on the Bengals' side.
