The Cincinnati Bengals couldn't afford bad news on the injury report going into Week 9 against the Las Vegas Raiders.

But the struggling 3-5 squad got it anyway—twice.

According to Kelsey Conway of the Cincinnati Enquirer, Bengals head coach Zac Taylor revealed that offensive tackle Orlando Brown Jr. and wideout Tee Higgins will both be doubtful on the final injury report.

Brown attempted to play through an injury last week and appeared to reaggravate it or suffer a new setback, which means it will be Cody Ford in front of Joe Burrow at left tackle against a Raiders front seven with an elite name like Maxx Crosby.

Higgins had that late injury in practice one week ago and missed the loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. The latest updates trended toward him not playing against the Raiders, which means rookie Jermaine Burton could get more run -- Burrow himself has called for just that.

At least for now, neither guy has gone to injured reserve, meaning they should be back before four more games get played. But both will miss a critical contest where the Bengals risk falling to 3-6.
