Barcelona star Lamine Yamal this weekend took sole ownership of top spot in the assist charts in La Liga.

This came owing to his exploits in Barcelona’s derby showdown with neighbours Espanyol.

Hansi Flick’s troops are of course fresh off making it six victories on the spin across all competitions, courtesy of a 3-1 downing of Espanyol at Montjuïc.

Lamine, for his part, was afforded his latest starting berth in the clash, featuring from his customary berth on the right wing.

And it did not take the 17-year-old long to make a telling impact, laying on the hosts’ opener for Dani Olmo courtesy of a sumptuous left-footed delivery.

This marked Lamine’s 7th assist of the league campaign to date.

And, owing to as much, the young attacker has broken his tie with teammate Raphinha, to emerge as the early leader in the 2024/25 La Liga assist charts.
