Austin Corbett posts heartbreaking message on season-ending knee injury

Unfortunately for Carolina Panthers right guard Austin Corbett, his journey will have one more big obstacle.

On Wednesday, the team announced that they placed the sixth-year offensive lineman on injured reserve due to a knee injury he sustained in this past Sunday’s loss to the Dallas Cowboys. Corbett will now, per the official release, miss the remainder of the season.

Not too long after the news broke, he had some words of his own in this heartbreaking Instagram post:

Corbett, who seemingly confirms the injury to his MCL, tore the ACL in his same knee during last year’s regular-season finale against the New Orleans Saints. He subsequently underwent surgery and began the current campaign on the reserve/physically unable to perform list.

After missing the first six games of the season, Corbett returned in Week 8 against the Houston Texans—which still stands as Carolina’s only victorious outing thus far. He played in all 257 offensive snaps over his four games.
