Auburn signee Tahaad Pettiford, the nation's No. 1 PG, named McDonald's All-American
AUBURN — Auburn basketball signee Tahaad Pettiford is a McDonald's All-American.
Pettiford, who committed and to the Tigers and coach Bruce Pearl in February before signing in November, is tabbed by the 247Sports Composite as the No. 24 overall player in the Class of 2024. A senior at Hudson Catholic High School in Jersey City, New Jersey, Pettiford is also tabbed as the No. 1 point guard in the country.
It's the fourth time in the past five years that Auburn has signed a McDonald's All-American. Freshman Aden Holloway earned the honor in 2023, Jabari Smith Jr. had it in 2021 and Sharife Cooper was the representative in 2020. The Tigers had two before this recent run: Korvotney Barber (2005) and Frank Ford (1983).
Pettiford is joined in the Class of 2024 by four-star forward Jahki Howard, who signed with Auburn in November.
