Here's our report card for the Tigers vs. Arkansas:
Offense: D
The Tigers offense came out sluggish with four first-half turnovers and the Tigers trailed at the halftime break. Hank Brown threw three interceptions in the first half as the Tigers finished with 72 passing yards in the first two quarters and was benched. Payton Thorne got the second-half start and threw the Tigers' fourth interception. There was also a lost fumble into the end zone that cost Auburn a scoring opportunity
Defense: C
The Tigers produced three sacks and intercepted Arkansas' Taylen Green twice. However, the Tigers lost defensive back Champ Anthony early in the first quarter with a left leg injury and got burned for a deep touchdown. The Razorbacks finished with 334 yards of offense.
Special Teams: C
Auburn had a miscue on a punt that resulted in Oscar Chapman scrambling, leading to a turnover on downs in the second half. The kicking game was consistent as kicker Towns McGough did not miss and extra point for the Tigers.
Coaching: C-
Despite the change at quarterback, the Tigers' offense did not mirror the same success it had a week previously against New Mexico. The defense put together a fair game but fell short in the end, allowing some huge gains late in the contest.
Overall: C
Auburn's offense stepped up the momentum in the second half as the defense remained consistent. But errors hurt the Tigers as they let this one slip away.
