Auburn basketball reveals numbers for JP Pegues, Tahaad Pettiford. Denver Jones makes change
AUBURN — Auburn basketball isn't done building its roster, but it's already added three new players this offseason in Furman transfer JP Pegues and freshmen Tahaad Pettiford and Jahki Howard.
The online roster for Auburn has been updated to show the profiles for all three newcomers, and the numbers they're expected to wear are included. Pegues is set to rock No. 1, Pettiford will have No. 0 and Howard is poised to don No. 3.
Also of note is returning shooting guard Denver Jones, who is switching from No. 12 to No. 2. Jones, who transferred to Auburn from Florida International in April 2023, wore No. 2 in his time with the Panthers. He appeared in 35 games in his first season on the Plains, averaging 9.1 points while making 41.8% of his 3-pointers.
Jaylin Williams wore No. 2 at Auburn last season. He has since run out of eligibility.
Pettiford is tabbed by the 247Sports Composite as the No. 28 player in the Class of 2024. Howard is ranked No. 61.
