Auburn basketball lands commitment of SG Kaden Magwood

Auburn men’s basketball didn’t waste much time getting an addition on the first day of the NCAA’s men’s basketball early signing period.

Kaden Magwood, a four-star shooting guard from Louisville, Kentucky, announced Tuesday he’d be continuing his basketball career on the Plains, choosing to commit to Bruce Pearl and the Tigers over North Carolina State and Southeastern Conference foe Ole Miss.

Magwood becomes the 12th-highest-rated Auburn commitment of the recruiting site era, based on 247’s rankings. His sits in front of former Tigers Davion Mitchell and Danjel Purifoy, as well as current freshman Jakhi Howard, among others.

Magwood is just the second commitment in Auburn’s 2025 class, joining Huntsville native and fellow four-star Simon Walker, who committed on Sept. 26.

Based on the 247Sports Class Calculator, Auburn’s 2025 class sees a significant jump in the team rankings, going from 77th to 32nd. It’d also go from 16th to 12th among Southeastern Conference teams.
