Atlanta Hawks star Trae Young honored with street dedication in hometown of Norman
The city of Norman dedicated a street in NBA star Trae Young’s honor Sunday.
Young returned to his hometown of Norman as Trae Young Drive was unveiled.
The street is in front of Young Family Athletic Center, which is set to open in January.
Young, who starred at Norman North and OU, had lots of people with him on the special day, including his family, teammates and even former Hawks star Dominique Wilkins.
"Something cool happened today," Young wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

Where is Trae Young from?
Although Young was born in Lubbock, Texas, he grew up in Norman.
He averaged 42.6 points per game during his senior year at Norman North before heading to OU, where he averaged 27.4 points per game as a freshman. Young was drafted by the Hawks in 2018 with the fifth overall pick.
Now a star at the highest level, he remains a proud Normanite and is giving back to his hometown with the Young Family Athletic Center.
