Lakers lose Anthony Davis to groin injury in Game 4 loss to Suns
Los Angeles Lakers forward Anthony Davis did not return to Game 4 against the Phoenix Suns on Sunday after suffering a groin strain.
With Davis sidelined in the second half, the Suns secured a 100-92 win to tie the Western Conference first-round series at 2-2.
Davis suffered the injury in the final minute of the second quarter on a layup attempt. He drove to the basket on the baseline and collapsed to the court after landing awkwardly. He immediately clutched his left thigh and eventually hobbled off the floor.

Suns open game up in Anthony Davis' absence
Davis didn't join the Lakers on the sideline after halftime as medical staff continued to evaluate his injury. The team ruled him out early in the third quarter.
Phoenix led 54-50 at halftime and opened the third quarter on a 14-4 run with Davis in the locker room.
Davis was initially questionable to play on Sunday after spraining his left knee in Game 3. He started and tallied six points, four rebounds and three assists on 2-of-9 shooting in 19 first-half minutes.
Will Anthony Davis be sidelined for Game 5?
The injury is the latest in a difficult season for Davis, who missed 36 of the Lakers' 72 regular-season games. He missed most of that time with tendonosis in his right Achilles' tendon that he aggravated in a February game against the Denver Nuggets.
Davis' status for Game 5 and the remainder of the series is not clear. ESPN's Adrian Wojnarwoski reports that he is considered day-to-day. The Lakers also played Sunday without starting shooting guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, who is listed as day-to-day with a left knee contusion. The series shifts to Phoenix on Tuesday for Game 5.
