Another trap? Alabama football brings back rat traps after Georgia win

Alabama football does not seem to be shying away from thoughts that its upcoming meeting against Vanderbilt is a "trap" game.

In the Mal Moore Athletic Facility on Alabama's athletic campus, Victor-branded rat traps were set up on the floor after the Crimson Tide's 41-34 win against Georgia, and ahead of Alabama's first SEC road test against Vanderbilt Saturday afternoon.

Before Alabama's 49-21 win against Kentucky last season, coming off a top-15 home win against LSU, these same traps were set up around the football facility and in the team locker room.

"In our head we were preaching, saying to guys, 'Don't get caught in these traps,'" former Alabama cornerback Terrion Arnold said. "We had rat traps in the locker room, going around the facility, and it's, 'Just don't get caught in it.' When you think about these external factors, coming off of two big wins, it's human nature to be happy."

What happened to Alabama defense?

The term "rat poison" has become a favorite phrase in Alabama football that was tied to former coach Nick Saban, but that has continued to the current staff and players.

Alabama kicks off against Vanderbilt at 3:15 p.m. Saturday on SEC Network.
