Angel Reese passes Sylvia Fowles for LSU women's basketball double-double record with 20

History made.

LSU women's basketball star sophomore forward Angel Reese surpassed legend Sylvia Fowles' record against Alabama Monday night with 20 consecutive double-doubles. Reese got her 10th rebound, securing the double-double with 2:55 left in the third quarter.

Reese recorded 20 double-doubles in as many game to open her career at No. 4 LSU.

"It was all love," Reese said as she approached Fowles' record. "Her hugs are amazing. She’s really proud of me, I got her number to connect with her and talk to her.

"Being up there with Sylvia Fowles is amazing. I can’t do it without my teammates."

Kim Mulkey has called Reese a "beast on the boards" and has said that she's not surprised by how the 6-foot-4 forward, in her first season with the Tigers, has performed this soon.

"You just expect (a double-double from Angel). She’s just that good," Mulkey said. "She can pick you apart.

"Angel Reese, I don’t know how you keep her from having a double-double. She’s that efficient."
