Andy Dickerson to interview with Cleveland Browns for offensive coordinator position

BEREA — The names have started to emerge for the vacant Browns offensive coordinator position.

Seattle Seahawks offensive line coach Andy Dickerson will interview for the position, a source confirmed to the Beacon Journal. CBS Sports' Jonathan Jones was the first to report.

Dickerson is the first name to come out for the position. Alex Van Pelt, who held the position for the last four seasons under head coach Kevin Stefanski, was part of an offensive staff shakeup in the wake of last Saturday's AFC wild card loss to the Houston Texans.

Dickerson has spent the last two seasons as the offensive line coach for the Seattle Seahawks, who fired head coach Pete Carroll last week. In 2021, his first season in Seattle, he was the offensive run game coordinator.

From 2012-20, Dickerson served as the assistant offensive line coach for the Rams, first in St. Louis and then in Los Angeles. He also has a pair of stops with the New York Jets, in 2006-08 as a defensive quality control assistant and in 2011 as a coaches assistant.

Dickerson has ties to the Browns from his time working under head coach Eric Mangini from 2009-10. He was a defensive quality control coach in 2009, then moved to assistant offensive line coach the following year.

Mangini and Dickerson first connected during their time together with the New England Patriots. Dickerson was an operations intern in 2004-05.
