Andrew Wiggins praises Draymond Green’s veteran influence
The Golden State Warriors suffered defeat at the hands of the Sacramento Kings on Thursday (Jan. 25.) Draymond Green was playing his third game since returning from his indefinite suspension. He ended the night with 5 points, 11 assists, 4 rebounds, 3 steals, and 1 block. However, Green’s leadership and defensive versatility weren’t enough to get the Warriors their second straight win.
During his postgame press conference, Andrew Wiggins discussed the impact having Green on the court makes. The veteran wing noted how Green has the ability to make everyone around him better, primarily because of how he orchestrates the offense and defense when he’s on the floor.
“The one thing about Draymond is that he’s gonna make everyone around him better,” Wiggins said. “He helps the flow of the game. Helps find guys. Helps get everyone easy baskets. It helps get guys in rhythm. Draymond, he’s a big part, for sure.”
Green has played 18 games this season. He’s averaging 9.4 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 5.8 assists per game, shooting 49.6% from the field and 44.7% from 3-point range. He also signed a fresh $100 million four-year contract extension in the summer.

As such, the Warriors will likely be hoping Green can remain on the court for the remainder fo the season and help the team get their season back on track. That starts with stringing wins together and climbing up the Western Conference.
