Alvin Kamara passed an important milestone on Sunday against the Carolina Panthers, which the Caesars Superdome gameday operations crew made sure to recognize. The New Orleans Saints star running back totaled more than 100 scrimmage yards for his fiftieth game in the NFL, prompting an announcement from the public address system and a bow to the crowd as they applauded him.
After the game, Kamara shared his reaction to the impressive stat -- which was news to him.
"Yeah, I mean, I never really keep track of things like this. Doug (Miller, the Saints' executive director of football communications) always tells me what's going on, he came and told me before," Kamara said, unflappable as always. "It's cool. It's real cool. Being able to quantify it, put a little stamp on it, on what I've accomplished, is cool. Just doing it with my teammates and obviously the Superdome recognizing me, is cool."
So where does Kamara rank among active players in games with 100-plus scrimmage yards? Only Christian McCaffrey is ahead of him with 55 gams. But the other players behind them are an impressive group. Here's a quick look at where the leaders stand in these rankings as we move into Week 2:
