Here are three takeaways from the game between Alabama women's basketball (21-8, 8-6 SEC) and Mississippi State (21-8, 7-7):

Nye sets single-season program record for three-pointers made and ties a single-game record

Aaliyah Nye had a record breaking game on Sunday for Alabama, setting a school record and tying another.

After knocking down two three-pointers in the first quarter of Sunday's game, Nye set a program record for most made three-pointers in a season at 94, breaking Brittany Davis' mark of 93 that she set in the 2021-22 season. Nye then knocked down her eighth three-pointer of the game in the fourth quarter to tie the program single-game record along with a career-high 28 points for her as well.

She is now at 100 threesn, by far the most in the SEC.

"I just feel very blessed to get the record and there's so many great people ahead of me, I just want to thank my coaches and teammates overall for providing me with great opportunities," Nye said on breaking the record.

Alabama's subpar defensive half

It was not a good defensive first half for Alabama, allowing the Bulldogs to score 18 of their 37 first half points in the paint on 46% shooting from the field.

The Crimson Tide's defensive lapse at this point in the season is uncharacteristic, considering that they have been one of the more consistent teams on that side of the ball all season.

Alabama allowed 32 points in the paint for the game, but its superior offense was able to overcome that.

Barker notches her third double double of the season with 20+ points

Sarah Ashlee Barker continued her stellar senior campaign on Sunday with her team-high third 20+ point double-double of the season.

Barker's offense and rebounding ability is going to continue to be pivotal for Alabama as they head into conference play and NCAA tournament play in the coming weeks.
