Alabama football announces its four team captains ahead of 2024 season

Ahead of the 2024 season, Alabama football announced its four team captains for the upcoming season on Tuesday.

Assuming captain duties for the Crimson Tide come this fall will be quarterback Jalen Milroe, linebacker Deontae Lawson, offensive lineman Tyler Booker and defensive back Malachi Moore. Both Milroe and Moore were both voted as permanent team captains last season, getting to leave their hand and cleat handprints in concrete by Denny Chimes on campus.

Under previous coach Nick Saban, Alabama had different captains for each of its games during the season, voting for permanent team captains later in the season. However, under new coach Kalen DeBoer, who took over for Saban in January, all four captains will serve the role throughout the duration of the season.

Alabama gets its 2024 season underway on Aug. 31, hosting Western Kentucky at Saban Field at Bryant-Denny Stadium. Kickoff is slated for 6 p.m. CT.
