ERIC EDHOLM: All right, it's time to take a look at Michigan's Aidan Hutchinson, the odds-on favorite to be the number one pick in the NFL Draft. He may not be a superior pass rusher, but an all-around fantastic player.
On the upside, Hutchinson works hard and plays hard. And he likely will be a leader the day he sets foot in an NFL locker room. He's surprisingly quick for his size, has a knack for getting to the quarterback, and is also a quality run defender.
On the downside, he has short arms for a defensive end, which can present problems when disengaging from blocks. He also might be maxed out weight-wise and isn't a true power player.
For an NFL comp, we came up with two names, Chris Long, the former number two overall pick in the draft who had a very nice career, and the Raiders Maxx Crosby, a try-hard guy who just earned his big second contract. We think Hutchinson will fit somewhere in the spectrum in between those two players.
