Report: Adrien Broner arrested in Las Vegas at Fury-Wilder weigh-in
Adrien Broner was arrested on Friday afternoon in Las Vegas after he refused to leave the MGM Grand Garden, where the Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury weigh-in was taking place, according to TMZ.
Broner, per TMZ, was told in November that he was not allowed to visit the property, though it’s not clear why. The boxer showed up to the weigh-in on Friday anyway.
He was reportedly asked to leave the property, and was then detained by hotel security after declining to leave before police arrested him and charged him with a misdemeanor trespassing citation.
He has had several legal incidents in recent years, too.
The former welterweight champion was ordered to pay nearly $830,000 to a woman in December who accused him of sexually assaulting her at a Cleveland nightclub. He pled guilty to two charges stemming from that incident and was sentenced to two years of probation. He was arrested in February 2018 in Atlanta and charged with misdemeanor sexual battery after allegedly groping a woman in a mall, per the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Broner also went on a disturbing rant on Instagram last year, where he threatened to shoot gay people while using homophobic slurs.
The 30-year-old holds a 33-4-1 record, however he hasn’t stepped into the ring since his loss to Manny Pacquaio in Las Vegas last January.
