Adam Flagler brings experience, confidence to OKC Thunder's NBA Summer League squad
LAS VEGAS — Inside a struggling Oklahoma City offense Saturday, Adam Flagler was one of the few constants.
With as well-lit a green light as anyone on the Thunder’s summer roster, Flagler flowed into handoffs and delivered shotmaking when it was scarce during a 94-69 loss to the Raptors.
Flagler finished with 23 points on 8-for-14 shooting (6 for 7 from deep). Every 3-pointer was warranted, well within rights and range, hardly anything forced even given his year-long vote of confidence.
Flagler, who attempted 14 3-pointers in his Salt Lake City debut earlier in the week, smirked when he heard the phrase, “green light.”
“They feel like I can knock down a good amount of my shots and they're confident in me,” Flagler said, “and I just want to resemble that with my play out there.”

With an offense mostly being initiated by rookie guards to this point, Flagler is a steady presence. With experience, with efficiency. With knowledge of his own spots as a player, and a gauge for the windows that require him to score and earn reps without stealing any from OKC’s rookie class.
His green light this summer goes beyond his shotmaking abilities. It falls onto his decision making and how little concern the staff has in the role of team development.
He's a great player,” coach Daniel Dixon said. “He's very smart. He’s a winner. And he just plays really hard. He's gonna compete to the end and I never have to worry about that.”
