Aaron Donald, a unanimous All-Pro, goes back to locker room after landing awkwardly on big play
Of course, when Aaron Donald got injured he did so thwarting a Seattle Seahawks touchdown.
Donald, one of two unanimous All-Pros this season along with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, grabbed his side after pressuring Russell Wilson in the third quarter of the Los Angeles Rams’ wild-card victory. Donald came to the sideline, Fox’s broadcast showed him having trouble catching his breath, and shortly afterward he walked back to the locker room. The Rams said he had a rib injury.
Donald would be picked by many as the best defensive player in football. The Seahawks had trouble blocking him until he left to the locker room.
On the play Donald was injured, he got pressure on Wilson just before Wilson threw deep to a wide-open DK Metcalf. Wilson overthrew Metcalf for an incompletion. Without the pressure, Wilson likely would have hit Metcalf for a touchdown.
The Rams were already shorthanded against the Seahawks. Losing one of the best players in the NFL was the biggest blow.
