72 Players to Watch from the High Desert during the CIF-SS football playoffs

Seven high school football teams in the High Desert will vie for a shot at hoisting a CIF-Southern Section championship as the playoffs begin Friday night.

These teams sure wouldn’t be in the postseason without star players.

A look at the rosters of those seven teams shows there is no shortage of top-tier players who have made impacts over the 10-game season.

Oak Hills, which drew a spot in the Division 2 bracket, is by far the cream of the crop of the High Desert teams with a slew of players moving on to play NCAA Division 1 football.

Oak Hills running back Karson Cox shares a laugh with a teammate on Friday, Sept. 13, 2024. Oak Hills beat Beaumont 28-19, improving to 4-0 on the season.
