The Seattle Seahawks secured easily their most complete victory of the season. The offense was humming, the defensive line was suffocating, and the secondary was ball-hawking. The run defense and offensive line still have some issues, but we'll get to them later. Right now, 12's everywhere should enjoying a sigh of relief the Seahawks were able to snap their losing streak, and still can show they are a quality football team.

Without further ado, dear reader, here are the top takeaways from Sunday's dismantling of the Falcons.

No. 1 - Sunday was proof why the Seahawks should not trade DK Metcalf

.
.

Over the past week, a dialogue began online as to whether or not the Seattle Seahawks should consider trading away star wide receiver DK Metcalf. I planted my flag firmly in the ground that no, Seattle should not do this. Against the Falcons, this take has aged like a fine wine. Metcalf was spectacular in Atlanta, leading the team with 99 receiving yards and a touchdown on four receptions. Metcalf's score came with mere seconds left in the half to give the Seahawks a 17-7 lead before intermission. He is a special player who will best serve the Seattle organization in a Seahawks uniform.

No. 2 - Turnovers come in bunches

Going into this game, the Seahawks defense had a grand total of only four takeaways on the year. An unusually low number for an organization that historically preaches the importance of taking the ball away. Well, on Sunday, the Seahawks nearly doubled their season total. The final three drives of the fourth quarter for Kirk Cousins ended with a fumble (returned for a touchdown), interception and interception. The last one went into the waiting arms of Coby Bryant, who secured the first pick of his career. Hopefully the team can keep it up next week against Bills quarterback Josh Allen, who has a habit of giving it away.

No. 3 - Pass rush was suffocating once more

The Seahawks have struggled getting to opposing quarterbacks during their losing streak, and simply could not get close to San Francisco's Brock Purdy. But in Atlanta, life must have been miserable for Kirk Cousins. Dre'Mont Jones, Leonard Williams and Boye Mafe all registered one sack each. As a team, Seattle hit Cousins nine times. This is the kind of consistent pressure that helps generate turnovers, as rushed quarterbacks trailing make more hurried decisions.

No. 4 - Run defense still has some work to do

We are going to grade on a bit of a curve, here. Yes, overall, the Falcons had their way on the ground against the Seahawks defense. Atlanta had 155 yards and a touchdown as a team. Of course, most of this was generated by former Texas Longhorns standout Bijan Robinson, who had 103 of those yards, as well as 40 through the air. Robinson is a special player, so I won't harp too hard on the Seahawks defense here. However, this is still a weakness this unit has, and they didn't have any answers on Sunday.

No. 5 - Seattle showed what they are capable of doing

As I mentioned in the introduction, the Seahawks played easily their most complete game of the season. Even when they started 3-0, they only looked dominant in spurts, or in one half. Not this time. Against Atlanta, this team was complete in all three phases. Yes, the rush defense needs work, but we can see the vision. When this Seahawks team is firing on all cylinders, or close to it, they can beat anyone in the league. The Falcons are a good team, and they were humbled at home. Seattle looked strong, and perhaps they can keep the momentum rolling for another week.

No. 6 - The Seahawks did not lose any ground in the NFC West

Perhaps the most important takeaway, from a big picture standpoint, is the fact this team did not lose any ground in the division. They already lost sole possession of first place in the NFC West last week by losing to the 49ers, who now have a tiebreaker (at least for the time being) over Seattle. But they were still tied, record wise. At the moment, the Seahawks move back into first place, due to the fact they won before the Niners kicked off today. San Francisco is currently playing the Kansas City Chiefs, the team who has prevented them from winning two Lombardi's. If the Niners can get revenge and upset the Chiefs, they will of course be tied with the Seahawks once more. But Seattle's victory prevents them from falling further behind the Niners, no matter what else happens today.
