5 takeaways from the Bills' 34-10 win over the Titans
The Buffalo Bills (5-2) faced the Tennessee Titans (1-5) in their Week 7 contest at Highmark Stadium, taking a 34-10 win.
As is the case in any NFL game, the Bills had ups-and-downs on both sides of the ball. That was true against the Titans.
With that, here are five takeaways from the Bills' win over the Titans:
Awful start
The win looked easy. It was not, at least not early on.
The Bills started poorly on both sides of the ball. The Titans held a 10-0 lead at one point and the upset alert bells were ringing in Buffalo. Namely, the offense came out of the gate bad with a couple of three-and-out drives in a row.
Thankfully, that all changed. The Bills don't have such luxuries against every team, though.
Amari's impact
Won the trade... at least in Week 7. During his debut with the Bills, Cooper was one of the players starting out slow. He did have a drop.
That was all erased once he scored his first touchdown with the Bills... on his first ever catch as a member of the team. It was a dart thrown by quarterback Josh Allen right down the middle of the Titans defense while in the red zone.
Greg's breakout continues
The Bills' pass rush came to life against the Titans. Tennessee quarterback Mason Rudolph was sacked three times and hit a massive 11 times.
Leading the way once again for Buffalo's defense was Greg Rousseau. He had half a sack, splitting it with Dawuane Smoot. By himself, Rousseau had six QB hits, the most of any player in a single game in the NFL this season.
Hopefully not a worry
The entire Bills defense played well throughout the entire second half. They came out on fire, allowing just 11 yards on the Titans' first 11 plays.
Along with Rousseau, the QB of Buffalo's defense in linebacker Terrel Bernard shined. He was all over the place... when he was on the field. Bernard went down twice with injury in this one. He returned from a shoulder injury but an ankle injury kept him out of the game.
The Bills have stayed afloat in the past without Bernard, but he's becoming the heart and soul of this group. They'd love him to not miss time.
Super Bowl second half
The trade for Cooper was one that made the Bills look like a Super Bowl contender on paper. The work done on the field against the Titans makes them truly look like one.
Again, starting slow against better opposition won't go as smoothly. The way the wagons were circled against the Titans was very convincing.
