Pittsburgh has perhaps their toughest opponent thus far of the season in Week 7 against the NY Jets, and will need several defensive aspects to go their way if the Steelers hope to improve to 5-2 on the season. Here are the 5 Steelers' defensive keys to victory in Week 7.

1. Stop the run early:

If Pittsburgh can shut Breece Hall down before the Jets find their rhythm, their offense could unravel.

2. Put pressure on Aaron Rodgers:

The pass rush, led by T.J. Watt, should have a field day against Rodgers, who has been sacked the eighth-most times in the NFL this season.

3. Zone, zone, and more zone coverage:

The Jets' wide receivers, led by Davante Adams and Garrett Wilson, form one of the most unguardable groups in the NFL. The Steelers can neutralize them by forcing Rodgers to throw into tight zone coverage under pressure.

4. Showcase crafty blitz alignments:

The Steelers' inside linebackers and defensive backs are capable pass rushers, and the veteran QB Rodgers can easily read basic alignments, so disguising blitzes will be key.

5. Eliminate the offensive splash plays:

Both of the Steelers’ losses this season highlighted a defensive allowance of big offensive plays. The Steelers need to enforce their ‘Steel City’ brand of football by taking away the Jets’ ability to create deep, splash plays.
