247Sports analyst tells how Tennessee football can stay in top 10 in recruiting

Five-star quarterback Nico Iamaleava committed to Tennessee on Monday, representing a monumental recruiting feat for coach Josh Heupel.

"I will be committed to the University of Tennessee. Go Vol nation," Iamaleava said during a 3-minute video he posted on Instagram and Twitter.

Iamaleava, a 6-foot-5, 195-pounder from Downey, California, is the No. 4 ranked quarterback in the 2023 recruiting class, according to 247Sports Composite.

He chose the Vols over Georgia, Oregon, Alabama and Miami among dozens of scholarship offers. Now the Vols must keep him committed until the early signing period in December.

By 247Sports Composite grades, Iamaleava would be the highest rated UT signee since defensive lineman Kahlil McKenzie in 2015. He would be only the third five-star quarterback signed by the Vols in the 2000s, joining Casey Clausen (2000) and James Banks (2002).
