The start of Pittsburgh Steelers second half of the 2024 season, AKA the Steelers' proving grounds, has finally arrived. Although their Week 10 opponent, the 7-2 Washington Commanders, presents a challenging matchup, here are five reasons why Pittsburgh should secure a victory in the nation's capital.

Pittsburgh’s rushing attack against Washington's lackluster run defense:

The Commanders' bottom-five run defense is no match for the Steelers' top-ten rushing offense.

Nonexistent Commanders' secondary:

Prior to trading for Marshon Lattimore, who will not play in Week 10, one of the Commanders' biggest issues was in the secondary. Expect Russell Wilson to cook on Sunday.

Washington's defensive struggles to force turnovers:

While the Commanders rank first in ball security, they are among the ten worst teams at forcing turnovers.

Pittsburgh's defense is the Commanders' kryptonite:

What Washington's offense does well—running the football—Pittsburgh is incredible at defending, boasting the third-best rushing defense in the NFL.

Commanders K Austin Seibert to miss Week 10:

Seibert, Washington's kicker and the league leader in field goals made, will miss the Week 10 contest with a hip injury. Needless to say, Pittsburgh has the special teams advantage.
