The regular season has arrived. The Pittsburgh Steelers will look to start their season strong against a formidable, but beatable, Atlanta Falcons.  Here are 5 reasons why they will pull off the victory:

The Steelers' running game is facing an average, run stopping defensive line

Steelers fans alike are worried about exactly how the pass protection will hold up the whole game. The Falcons' defensive line will get to the Steelers' quarterback this week, but they will not be able to stop the offensive line from opening running lanes all game.

Drake London and Kyle Pitts are the Falcons' only true receiving threats

Cornerback depth is an area of concern heading into the 2024 season; however, this should be a non-factor as the Steelers take on Atlanta’s bare receiving corps. To win this game, the Steelers won’t need cornerback depth and will instead look to their defensive line to set the tone on defense.

Steelers linebackers are too strong and suffocating against the run

Steelers' Patrick Queen is a fantastic do-it-all linebacker. Elandon Roberts is a great run-stopper, and Payton Wilson is looking to build off his veteran teammates' success as he heads into his first regular season game.

The Steelers have historically owned the matchup between Falcons: 15-2-1 record against Atlanta

The Steelers have won the past four straight matchups, with the Falcons achieving their last victory against the Steelers in 2006. What about an Atlanta victory before that? It happened all the way back on December 13, 1970.

Steelers edge rushers will be too much Atlanta's offensive tackles

While the Falcons boast an impressive interior offensive line, the Steelers will have a field day in the edge rushing department. Watt and Highsmith, when healthy, present a top 3 unit in the NFL and this presents a problem for Atlanta's offensive tackles.
