Fans of the Pittsburgh Steelers are on cloud nine after their team not only improved to 6-2 this season but also took a one-game lead over the Baltimore Ravens, claiming first place in the AFC North.  Here are 5 reasons for optimism after the Steelers’ Week 8 win over the New York Giants.

1. Russell Wilson’s deep ball has changed the offense:

Wilson’s ‘moon ball’ has truly transformed the Steelers' offense. Defenders either respect the Steelers' deep threat or fall victim to it.

2. 'Bama Najee Harris has returned:

In the past three weeks, Najee Harris has made grown men look like children trying to tackle him. It’s safe to say his running ability from his Alabama days has returned.

3. T.J. Watt and Alex Highsmith cannot be stopped:

Watt and Highsmith dominated QB Daniel Jones on Monday Night Football. Granted, the Giants’ offensive line was severely injured, but the edge-rushing duo proved their play is nearly impossible to stop.

4. TE Darnell Washington is a monster:

Darnell Washington has arguably looked like the most dynamic RAC receiving threat. Every time the young TE catches the ball, fans can expect him to take it another 10 to 15 yards.

5. Calvin Austin filled the WR2 vacancy:

Austin stepped up in a major way for the Steelers’ Week 8 contest, recording two TDs on the night. His speed is outstanding, and his connection with Wilson is just getting started.
