5 fun numbers from the Green Bay Packers victory against the Dallas Cowboys
Green Bay Packers fans are still flush with joy after the team took care of business against the Dallas Cowboys 42-32 on Sunday in the NFC wild-card round and now are going to face the San Francisco 49ers.
When the game expired, the Packers were moving on but the keepers of the history books were at work chronicling what just happened.
Here are some interesting numbers from the game:
Packers dominate in the playoffs in Dallas
The Packers have played at AT&T Stadium three times during the playoffs and won all of them. That's more than the Cowboys, who call that stadium home.
In 2011, the Packers beat the Pittsburgh Steelers 31-25 in Super Bowl XLV. Sure, it wasn't the Cowboys, but the game did take place at their house.
In 2017, the Packers beat the Cowboys 34-31 on the road with a Mason Crosby last-second field goal.
And on Sunday, the Packers dominated the Cowboys 48-32.
48 points ties Packers all-time playoff record
Outside of Wisconsin, not many people expected the Packers to win let alone score 48 points.
That number ties the teams' all-time playoff record for points in a game when the Packers beat the Atlanta Falcons 48-21 in Atlanta in 2010.
Both games also featured an interception return for a touchdown.
3 rushing touchdowns ties Packers playoff record
Texas native Aaron Jones came to play in Dallas and had three rushing touchdowns. It was the fourth time the Packers had three rushing touchdowns in a playoff game.
It was the first time a Packers running back had scored three rushing touchdowns since Ryan Grant did it at Lambeau Field on Jan. 12, 2008, when the Packers beat the Seattle Seahawks 42-20.
Jordan Love had a nearly perfect passer rating
Packers quarterback Jordan Love nearly had a perfect passer rating of 158.3. In the fourth quarter, it seemed like the Packers would cruise to an easy victory. Backup quarterback Sean Clifford was under center and could have added to his own career numbers.
But a quick touchdown by the Cowboys brought the game to within two touchdowns and two 2-point conversions.
Love was put back in the game and threw an incomplete pass, which caused his passer rating to fall to 157.2.
Jordan Love throws 35 touchdown passes
In his first full year plus playoffs as quarterback, Love has thrown 35 touchdown passes. That's the most by a Packers quarterback in their first year, and fourth all time in the NFL for first-year quarterbacks.
Love trails Patrick Mahomes (53), Kurt Warner (49) and Daunte Culpepper (36) for passing touchdowns in their first season.
