3-star defensive lineman Daniel Lyons signs with Florida State
After a fall season as a Florida State commit, Daniel Lyons is officially a Seminole.
The Homestead (Fla.) defensive lineman has been locked into his FSU pledge since committing while on a visit in July and he signed with the Seminoles Wednesday on the first day of the Early Signing Period.

Lyons, who measures in at 6-foot-4, 270 pounds, made his lone official visit to FSU this past weekend. The visit, while impressive for Lyons, was a formality. He's had a drama-free recruitment since committing to FSU, picking the Seminoles over Miami, LSU, Michigan, Georgia and Florida, among others.

He finished the 2022 recruiting cycle as the No. 464 overall recruit, No. 63 defensive lineman and No. 61 player from Florida in the class.
Lyons is coming off an impressive senior season where he had 58 tackles, 25 tackles for loss and six sacks, according to MaxPreps.
He's one of three 2022 defensive linemen FSU had committed entering the Early Signing Period, but that number could grow if the Seminoles are able to add a few of their remaining targets.
Lyons is set to enroll early in January, less than a month after signing with FSU. This early enrollment should help him on his desired journey to get up to approximately 305 pounds in time for his first season in the garnet and gold.
