3 Bruins Trade Candidates If Season Goes South
The Boston Bruins are now 10 games into their season, and it has been a bad start for the Original Six club. They currently have a 4-5-1 record and are tied at the bottom of the Atlantic Division with the Buffalo Sabres and Montreal Canadiens.

The season is young, so the Bruins still have plenty of time to get things on track. However, if they continue to struggle and are out of a playoff spot as we get deeper into the season, they could become sellers. If the Bruins' season goes south, here are three players who could become potential trade candidates.
Trent Frederic
If the Bruins end up being sellers near the deadline and Trent Frederic is not signed to a contract extension, he would be a solid potential trade chip. This is because the 6-foot-3 forward provides not only solid secondary scoring when playing at his best but also plenty of physicality.
Frederic, 26, is having a slow start to the 2024-25 season, as he has one goal, two assists, and a minus-7 rating in 10 games.
Morgan Geekie
Morgan Geekie would be another rental candidate on the Bruins if they can't turn things around. The 26-year-old forward is in the final season of his contract and is eligible to be an unrestricted free agent next summer.
Geekie proved to be an impactful part of Boston's forward group last season, recording 17 goals and 39 points in 76 games. Thus, he could generate some interest if made available, but he would need to heat back up. The start of the season has been disastrous for the Strathclair, Manitoba native, as he has one assist and a minus-5 rating in nine games.
Parker Wotherspoon
Parker Wotherspoon could also get some interest around the league if the Bruins make him available this season. Playoff clubs are always in need of defense depth, and Wotherspoon works well as a seventh defenseman. This is because he plays both sides and adds some bite to the blueline.
Wotherspoon, 27, also showed last season that he can be useful during the playoffs. In 10 games during the Bruins' playoff run last spring, he had two assists.
