2017 NFL trade tracker

It appears the age of relative silence leading up to the NFL trade deadline is over.

Eleven teams made deals since last week, and one of them included the New England Patriots and their shipping of backup quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo.

The NFL trade deadline happened Tuesday at 4 p.m. ET. Here’s a look at what went down:

Buffalo Bills: They got either a fifth-round draft pick or a sixth-rounder in 2018 from the Jaguars in exchange for Marcell Dareus, a defensive lineman the Bills once gave a deal valued at $96 million across six seasons.

Also, on Tuesday, the Bills closed out the deadline deals with a big move in getting wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin from Carolina for draft picks in the third and seventh rounds.

Carolina Panthers: Shortly before the deadline, they got two draft picks – a third-rounder and a seventh-rounder – from Buffalo and parted ways with wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin.

Chicago Bears: Got veteran wideout Dontrelle Inman from the Chargers for the price of a 2018 conditional seventh-round draft pick.

Houston Texans: Acquired cornerback Jeremy Lane and two draft picks – a 2018 fifth-rounder and a 2019 second-rounder – for offensive tackle Duane Brown, a three-time Pro Bowler.

Jacksonville Jaguars: The defense continues to beef up after a free-agency splurge this summer. The Jags got two-time Pro Bowler Marcell Dareus from Buffalo in exchange for either a 2018 fifth-round or sixth-round draft pick.

Los Angeles Chargers: Snagged a 2018 conditional seventh-round draft pick from the Chicago Bears in exchange for wideout Dontrelle Inman.

Miami Dolphins: Acquired a 2018 fourth-round draft pick from the Philadelphia Eagles in exchange for starting running back Jay Ajayi.

New England Patriots: Bill Belichick and company finally pulled the trigger on backup quarterback Jimmy Garropolo, trading him to San Francisco for a 2018 second-round draft pick.

Philadelphia Eagles: Bolstered their backfield after getting Jay Ajayi from the Dolphins for Philly’s 2018 fourth-round draft pick.

San Francisco 49ers: The Niners may have received their quarterback of the future after dealing a second-round pick next year for Jimmy Garoppolo. The former Patriot backup is in the final season of his rookie deal.

Seattle Seahawks: Life might get easier for quarterback Russell Wilson after Seattle bolstered its offensive line with a trade for offensive tackle Duane Brown, a three-time Pro Bowler. The price was high for Brown as the Seahawks forked over cornerback Jeremy Lane and two draft picks (a 2018 fifth-rounder and a 2019 second-rounder).
