Our countdown to the start of the New Orleans Saints’ 2024 season continues with Day 18. Let’s take a look at every single player to every take a snap in the corresponding jersey number.
The No. 18 has a few notable names attached to it starting with quarterback Dave Wilson who was the first overall selection by the Saints in 1981, one pick ahead of Hall of Fame linebacker Lawrence Taylor. Wilson carved out a seven-year career with the Saints throwing for over 6,900 yards and 36 passing touchdowns in that span. Another quarterback that has some notoriety around the league is Jeff Blake, who had a short stint with the Saints but spent 13 years in the league, mostly with the Cincinnati Bengals. Safety Hugo Hollas was another player who had a short stint with the Saints in his short career but was productive during his time intercepting 10 passes in his first two seasons in the league.
At the moment, the Saints have an exciting young player occupying the No. 18 in quarterback Spencer Rattler. Rattler has an opportunity to make those digits his own if he does decide to stay with it in the future.
