Thursday was an impressive day for Team U.S.A. at the track and field stadium as the Americans took home eight medals, including three gold and three silver. One of those golds belongs to long jumper Tara Davis-Woodhall, the charismatic and talented athlete from California. Davis-Woodhall leapt an incredible 7.10 meters to bring home her first medal in her second career Olympic games (she finished sixth in the 2021 Tokyo Olympics).
After locking up the medal, Davis-Woodhall collapsed backwards into the sand in relief before running to find her husband, Paralympian Hunter Woodhall. She then donned a cowboy hat and American flag and continued to celebrate alongside teammates and medalists Jasmine Moore (bronze, long jump), Sydney McLaughlin (gold, 400m hurdles) and Anna Cockrell (silver, 400m hurdles).
