Kazunari Ninomiya slams publications for releasing private photos of his family

7 Nov - Kazunari Ninomiya has recently slammed several Japanese publications for releasing private photos of him and his family without his permission.

The Japanese singer-actor took to X to express his frustration with the release of the photos early this month, saying, "I have lived my life telling myself, 'I don't like having my private life photographed, but it can't be helped.' Of course, due to the nature of my job, it was easier to live that way, so I understood that and lived my life that way. However, I cannot understand what happened this time."

"Moreover, this time it was not posted on a personal SNS, but was taken by a proper 'professional'. If you are a professional, do you not have to follow morals and manners? Many questions arise. I think that this publisher and photographer probably blurred out the photo as a 'consideration'. However, regardless of the circumstances or reason, please do not take photos of ordinary family members," he expressed.

He then declared that he will take a break from social media, saying that he doesn't want to affect people's mood with negativity.

"I haven't decided how long I'll be taking a break, but I hope everyone stays healthy until I can resume. Tomorrow was a special anniversary, but... (Ninomiya is still in a grudge-laden mode, so I'll excuse myself here)," he added.

Following his post, his agency issued a statement saying, "We strongly protest against some weekly magazines that conducted such interviews. In particular, we will discuss with our consulting lawyers and study severe punishment measures. Please protect the privacy of artistes including Ninomiya."
