Change your account name and preferred name in Yahoo

Update your name to change your identity throughout Yahoo. Depending on the product, either your name or what you have set as your preferred name is at the top of the page. It may be visible to other Yahoo users. For example, your preferred name appears next to comments you make on Yahoo News.

  1. Go to the Yahoo Personal info page.
  2. On the right side, click Update personal details.
  3. Edit your preferred name.
  4. Click Save updates.
