Why Cathie Wood isn't worried about the OpenAI leadership shake-up

OpenAI has seen a few top executives leave in recent weeks, including chief technology officer Mira Murati. The departures came amid reports the organization is preparing to switch to a for-profit model.

Ark Invest is one of the firms that has invested in the company behind ChatGPT. Ark Invest CEO and CIO Cathie Wood says she has "a lot of confidence" in OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, arguing that"you depend on visionary leaders surrounded by great business people."

Wood says she wasn't surprised by the leadership turnover, telling Yahoo Finance, "What we witness in companies that are growing very quickly from startup into scaling is you need a different kind of management team." Wood praised what Murati helped build at the startup and voiced her strong support for CFO Sarah Friar, who started at the company earlier this year.
