What is market rotation anyway?

In this edition of Stocks In Translation, Yahoo Finance’s Madison Mills sat down with Sydnee Fried to grill host Jared Blikre on their pressing stock questions. When asked about the potential for a market rotation and what that term really entails, he responded, “Markets can either be rotating, or they can be trending and when they're rotating, they tend to go sideways," Bilkre continued. "So, for instance, the Nasdaq hasn't had a new high in a few months, and we've seen the S&P 500 record highs. So... that tells you that there is rotation going on there."
