If elected, how Harris could inherit Biden’s ‘Grade-A’ economy

Earlier this week Yahoo Finance updated their Bidenomics Report Card, updating President Biden’s grade on his handling of the economy from a B+ to an A. How does this play into the Presidential election?

On the latest episode of Capitol Gains, Yahoo Finance's Rachelle Akuffo, Washington Correspondent Ben Werschkul, and Senior Columnist Rick Newman discuss President Biden’s top marks and where Vice President Kamala Harris and her campaign fit into it all.

“Biden has the top marks on job creation, manufacturing, job creation, and GDP growth tops out of eight. And that’s just the data,” Newman explains. And certainly there are facets to the economy that still could improve, especially with pricing for rent and food. “But compared to prior presidents and compared with Donald Trump the Biden economy is actually better on paper,” says Newman.

Akuffo begs a valid and important question, “does the grade that Biden gets on the economy transfer to Harris and what are voters looking for?”

Werschkul thinks it will depend on whether or not voters will associate all of this progress to Biden and also if the Harris campaign wants to be associated with the Biden administration in the first place.
