If you take blood pressure medication, take note that Prinston Pharmaceuticals and Torrent Pharmaceuticals are recalling the blood pressure medications losartan and irbesartan, after the FDA found these medications have above the acceptable daily intake levels of a cancer-causing substance. Perdue Foods, the largest producer of organic chicken in the US, announced a recall of 32 TONS of their frozen chicken nuggets after consumers reportedly found pieces of wood in these frozen nuggets. The Food Safety and Inspection service is urging consumers to check their freezers and throw these products out, or return them to the point of purchase. General Mills also announced a recall this week. This only applies to 5-pound bags of its Gold Medal unbleached flour with a used-by date of April 20, 2020. The recall is a precautionary measure for the potential presence of salmonella, but no confirmed direct consumer illnesses have been reported.
If you’ve purchased meat products made by Stino da Napoli’s, you’ll want to chuck those. The company is recalling more than 11,000 pounds of various ready-to-eat meat products and sauces that didn’t undergo federal inspection. Consumers can check the USDA website for specific products listed under this recall.
In other recall news, your yogurt label could be incorrect. A printing error on labels has caused a recall of Kroger’s Simple Truth line of yogurt products across several states. If your family is spiritual, there’s a new way to pray. During his traditional address on Sunday, Pope Francis himself introduced a new app, inviting people to pray with him using “Click To Pray,” and kickstarting what the Pope calls his official “worldwide prayer network.” The app is aimed at young people and invites users around the world to come together in prayer online. Users can view what the Pope’s prayer intentions are and submit prayer requests of their own. It also includes a feed of prayers for all occasions, in many different languages, where users can submit prayers or join others in prayer on a global scale.
