Athletic giant Adidas announced that Martin Shankland, executive board member for global operations, will step down and leave the company. Shankland joined Adidas Russia/CIS in 1997. After leading Adidas’ emerging markets region from 2017, he joined the executive board in 2019, with responsibility for product operations, sourcing and supply chain as well as tech, data and analytics, non-trade-procurement and sustainability. Hoa Ly, senior vice president of sourcing, will have responsibility for all sourcing operations at Adidas, reporting to chief executive officer, Bjørn Gulden. Adidas chief financial officer, Harm Ohlmeyer, will assume additional responsibility for supply chain and tech.

Athletic brand Under Armour announced that former Adidas executive Eric Liedtke will join the company as executive vice president of brand strategy following Under Armour’s acquisition of his plastic-free fashion brand, Unless Collective. In this role, Liedtke will be globally accountable for amplifying Under Armour’s brand identity and storytelling as well as its strategic planning process while continuing to lead and curate Unless. He will report to president and CEO, Kevin Plank, overseeing Under Armour’s brand presence through category marketing, consumer intelligence, creative, marketing operations, loyalty, social media, sports marketing and all strategy functions.

Atkinson is a retired audit partner from KPMG’s Cincinnati office, a multinational professional services network. Before retiring in 2021 with over 35 years of experience as an audit professional, Atkinson served as the lead audit partner for a range of public and private businesses, primarily in the consumer food and retail sectors, including multiple Fortune 500 companies.
