Pancheros Mexican Grill will reach 27 locations in the state of Iowa with a new Bettendorf restaurant as nationwide expansion efforts continue, according to a news release.

Co-owners Doug Ormsby and Dan Sacco will advance a decades-long partnership by opening their third Pancheros restaurant in the up-and-coming region of Iowa on Oct. 8, growing the brand in the Quad Cities market.

With decades of restaurant industry experience, Ormsby and Sacco strategically expand the Iowa-based brand into a growing market rich with potential. The new Bettendorf Pancheros restaurant is positioned just off Exit 301 of Interstate 80, down the road from TBK Bank Sports Complex.

“The Bett Plex area is booming with new business and residential developments, so bringing the Pancheros concept we’ve mastered over 20 years to locals and visitors of Bettendorf made perfect sense for our team,” said Doug Ormsby, Bettendorf Pancheros co-owner. “We saw an ideal opportunity on the right side of Middle Road and wanted this Iowa-staple to be a part of the area’s growth.”

In 1995, Ormsby and Sacco began working together with a Pizza Hut franchisee, where they built up restaurant industry experience. Ten years later, Ormsby and Sacco decided to partner to open their own franchises, landing on the quality fresh-Mexican food of Pancheros and opened their Dubuque and Davenport – Utica Ridge locations in 2005. Recognizing a growing demand and development in the Quad Cities, the duo is coming up on 20 years of success with Pancheros as they expand to Bettendorf, contributing to now 27 total Pancheros locations in Iowa.

“We explored many concepts and landed on Pancheros because the quality of the food, the business model and the brand culture were unbeatable, and the available markets were exactly where we wanted to be,” said Dan Sacco, Bettendorf Pancheros co-owner. “We invest in each community that surrounds our restaurants, so we’re excited to have the opportunity to bring the same great food, service and local support to the Bettendorf community as we do in Dubuque and Davenport.”

Pancheros Mexican Grill offers “Burritos Better Built” – incorporating fresh-pressed tortillas, homemade queso and high-quality ingredients seamlessly mixed using BOB the Tool, a signature brand device designed to create equally balanced bites.

The brand also offers bowls, tacos, vegetarian and vegan options and more. The Bettendorf Pancheros restaurant spans an approximate 2,400 square-foot space and will feature a second make-line – a key element integrated into many Pancheros restaurants nationwide. The second make-line emphasizes efficient, personable service of all guests, whether ordering digitally or in-restaurant.

The Bettendorf restaurant is at 5273 Competition Drive, Bettendorf.
