Builders FirstSource a Texas-based company that supplies most everything needed for home construction, has gone on two separate shopping sprees. One has been snapping up smaller companies in and adjacent to its business—more than 60 deals in the past quarter-century. This month its board of directors authorized a new $1 billion buyback program equal to around 5% of its shares outstanding.
