Victoria Beckham slammed for using 'sick' looking model in new fashion ad
Victoria Beckham has come under fire from fans, after sharing an image of an especially thin-looking model.
Beckham, 43, posted the offending photo to her 18.3 million Instagram followers, as she attempted to promote her new Spring/Summer 2018 VB Eyewear Collection.
The promo consisted of two images of the model — one full-length, and one head and shoulders — sporting the designer shades.
She captioned the post: “Back to work! Start the year with new frames from the Spring Summer 2018 #VBEyewear collection inspired by 1970s retro classics and updated for a feathery-light, fresh and modern look. Available at victoriabeckham.com and 36 Dover Street, London now. #VBSS18 #VBDoverSt”

However, the comments that met her post roundly blasted her use of such a thin model and berated Beckham for promoting that sort of body image to her followers.
“Feed her” and “Use healthy models she looks sick and sad” responded some unimpressed followers.
One user explained why they saw it as a bad move to use the model in the first place: “Wow..although I love the clothes. I think you need to re- think your models. This girl looks very poorly. It’s not a good image to portray to anyone. Please make the change to healthy looking models.”
Others didn’t see a problem, and praised the campaign: “THIS IS COMPLETELY OK, just like people are heavier she is skinnier than usual so keep your bashful comments that have no relevant evidence to yourselves. She is beautiful and looks good. This is creatively spectacular, is it art in an advertisment and realise the model your bashing is a person.”
It is not the first time her choice of fashion models has come under scrutiny, and back in 2010, Beckham vowed to use models with a “healthy appearance,” to promote positive body image.
