Dress shopping can be challenging. I need to feel like myself when wearing one, and if I don't, it's off to the donation bin. In recent years, my body has been through a lot — childbirth, breast cancer and medically-induced menopause — so the time has more than come to treat myself to something new.
I’m a low-maintenance mom of two, and I wear mainly athleticwear, so when I checked out my options on Amazon, it was the bestsellers under $50 that caught my eye. In particular, this Famulily V-Neck Dress really stood out. It looked cute, would cover my out-of-shape upper arms, has a bit of extra length for fall — and came in a ton of different colours. Did it turn out a steal at just $38, or was it too good to be true? Keep reading for my honest review.

The details
This 100 per cent polyester V-neck dress is great for casual nights out or more formal, fancier events. The puff flared sleeves fall right at the elbow, giving the dress an added element of glamour. It falls right above the knee and is offered in sizes S to XXL.
This all-season mini-dress, available in more than a dozen colours, is great for the office or paired with a fun blazer for cooler fall evening gatherings. You might even accessorize with a pair of black tights and heels for a winter work party. The possibilities are endless with this mini-dress.
What I like about it
Wrinkle-free, baby!: The dress is made of a slightly heavier, virtually wrinkle-free fabric. After I opened the package, all I had to do was hang it up for 30 minutes, and the few creases were gone. It's an ideal dress to throw in your suitcase when the last thing you want to do is worry about ironing.
Easy to clean: OK, I know it says to hand wash, but that is just not how I roll. I threw it in the washer on cold, let it air dry and it came out perfect. Also, it's super easy to spot clean. My son wiped his yogurt-covered hands on my black dress and with a little water, and it came right out.

Good quality: Let's face it, sometimes when you order less expensive dresses online you end up getting low quality garments with poor stitching and fabric strings sticking out all over. This dress is made of a more durable material, and all of the hems are even and intact.
So comfortable: The dress feels great on and doesn't ride up when I sit down. I don't get dressed up very often, but when I do, I like to feel like I can move, and in this dress, I can.
Room for improvement
Runs big: I ordered a small, but I would probably prefer an extra small as it does run big.
A little longer would be great: I love dresses that fall right below the knee. Don't get me wrong—I like this one and it's comfortable—but if it were just a little longer, I would like it even more.

The verdict
Every once in a while, I like to toss my well-worn sweats aside and throw on something fun and flirty. This cute Famulily V-Neck Dress, with its flared sleeves and sexy V-neck, is one I can dress up in all year round. It does run a little big, but that's okay, as it subtly conceals my mommy-middle. Plus, for just $30? The price is most definitely right.
